PlayStation 4 and Harmony Hub Issue Posted: 23 May 2020 04:32 PM PDT Hello. I haven't had this issue before, but it changed once I bought a receiver. I have a Denon AVR-x2600h receiver that I recently paired with my PS4 and TV. For whatever reason, I am not able to have the PS4 go into rest mode when I either switch HDMIs or turn off the systems. I reconfigured my old program on the Harmony computer program, to include the receiver, and synced both the hub and the remote to the new program. I even re-paired the 'Harmony Keyboard' on my PS4. I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]

Best LED app controlled RGBWW light strips for the price. Posted: 24 May 2020 12:19 AM PDT I dont want to buy any of that cheap Chinese amazon garbage, but the price on things like flexfireleds.com is pretty steep, especially when theres no home-kit integration. Does anyone have any go-to affordable 10f or less RGBWW light strips that work with homekit? Thanks so much! [link] [comments]
Smart controller for mini split Posted: 24 May 2020 12:01 AM PDT Hi everyone, I'm looking at purchasing a smart IR controller for my mini split a/c. Currently looking at the Cielo Breez plus and the Flair Puck. Any opinion on either or other suggestions? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 May 2020 03:22 PM PDT I have lights in my kitchen. One set is on a 3 way switch and one light is on a single pole switch. I know that I will need the dimmer & remote kit for the 3 way. For the single pole, can I just install another Caseta unit and the make an Alexa group that contains both?? Sounds simple but famous last words [link] [comments]
Long shot - Carrier Infinity and Leviton OmniPro II fluctuating temperatures Posted: 23 May 2020 04:52 PM PDT So, today I noticed something very odd. I have a Carrier Infinity system that includes the SAM automation interface module. I have that going to an OmniPro II via serial. The temperature shown in PC access and on the keypad will fluctuate from the real temp (71 degrees right now) then to 0. Stays at 0 for a second or so (one poll cycle I would imagine) then it goes back to 71. It's doing this every 30 seconds or so. The temp showing on the Carrier wall control is not changing. This of course causes all sorts of havoc with rules and programming on the OmniPro II... and then those temps flow into Home Assistant which is a nightmare. Has anyone else noticed this? OmniPro is on the final 4.0B, Carrier is on the following software versions: Wall Control - Model SYSTXCCITC01-B - Version 131626-03.00 SAM - Model SYSTXCCRCT01 - Version CESR131439-04 I know this is not a common hardware pairing, but figured someone here might be able to say "yeah I had that problem" or "no my stuff is working fine". ZOOZ MULTIRELAY 16 - how to install? Posted: 23 May 2020 08:27 PM PDT Looking to add this to my garage. Have never seen anything like this before. Are there any good videos? Google searches, YouTube searches and reddit searches have not been helpful thus far... [link] [comments]
Any similar slider remotes to the R11 with other protocols? Posted: 23 May 2020 07:07 PM PDT https://i.imgur.com/D0aKl5M.png I'm looking for a similar remote to this R11 but with some other control protocol that supports two way communication rather than the one way RF. Anyone familiar with anything? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 May 2020 04:29 PM PDT Over the course of the next week I am redecorating a room and want to put up a shelf slightly offset from the wall and put RGB light behind it. (This but a little lower and so there is a gap for lights behind it - and the holes in the wall filled and sanded lol) What would be the best way to discreetly get power to it (5v) and attach a controller (preferably a nodemcu running WLED)? Wire Kasa 3 way switches for 4 way? Posted: 23 May 2020 12:04 PM PDT Just curious if anybody has done this and what the way to do it is? I am about to rewire my 4 way switches to use the Kasa switches -- I have bought a 3 way pack and two other single pole lights, so the HS210 Kit, and two HS200s. What do I do in terms of the wiring, and then what do I do in terms of the app onboarding? Appreciate any help! [link] [comments]
Contact Senor only not showing open closed Posted: 23 May 2020 03:02 PM PDT Hi I got a random wifi contact sensor off Amazon. Works with smartlife therefore Alexa. Had OK overall reviews. I get it added in and discovered. Alexa will show if the door is open or closed but when I go to create routines all I find are the states of armed stay armed away and disarmed when I expected to find the states open or closed (which is what I need). Anyone run into anything like this before? I have removed and readded etc but no avail. [link] [comments]
Google Nest Max Hub - GA link issue Posted: 23 May 2020 02:54 PM PDT I have set up plenty of google minis/home/hub, nest thermostat/doorbell, however I'm having issues with setting up my new Google Nest Max Hub. I'm able to connect to the internet, but when it comes to linking to my Google Assistant, I'm prompt with the error, "Problem connecting to cloud." I linked a screenshot. So basically it appears as a Local device and I can control the volume from my phone to the Max, but it won't be functional. I've tried:
I've even called Google support, and their answer was to return/exchange the device. I got it on sale, and the place I got it at doesn't do exchanges due to quarantine, so I won't be able to get it at the price I got it at. I'm led to believe that it might cloud account? I'm not sure what it normally does, but when I have issues with my other smart linked accounts, I can go into the Linked accounts list, and click "Check for new devices" to kind of "refresh" the smart devices. But when I try for "Assistant" I'm prompt with "Something went wrong. Try again." I've tried for about a week, and I really don't want to lose it at the price I got it for. Any suggestions is appreciated! [link] [comments]
What if Samsung kills Smartthings? Posted: 23 May 2020 04:12 AM PDT If Samsung ever decided to just kill it's whole smartthings program, would I be able to migrate all my zwave devices to another platform like wink or homeseer? Would it ever be a possibility that zwave devices would be inoperable due to a new standard like weave or LE bluetooth taking over? [link] [comments]
Looking for some apartment automation upgrade ideas that give ROI Posted: 23 May 2020 02:34 PM PDT We're looking to sell our NYC co-op next year. I've already upgraded all my switches to smart switches and added the google home hub. Any apartment owners in NYC or elsewhere have any unique smart home ideas they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks [link] [comments]
using RPi to detect human on surveillance JPGs Posted: 23 May 2020 06:19 AM PDT I am trying to tune the movement detection algorithm on my older doorbell but it gives a lot of false positives. Would a headless RPi B2 be able to weed out the false positives? When triggered, the doorbell captures 3 pictures, some video and FTPs it to a the RPi. All I think I need is detecting a human (in the pictures?), ignoring a tree, ignoring the sun, ignoring the porch lights, and classifying anything else as "unsure" (this could include a passing car or its headlights)? The GPU on mu RPi is not doing anything so it would be satisfying if it can do the detecting :) [link] [comments]
Looking for media server/ streaming advice Posted: 23 May 2020 05:55 AM PDT I'm looking to buy or build a media server to support local streaming of 4K movies as well as to store and play back security camera footage and store local backups. I'd like something that can stream to a variety if iPads, TVs and computers, perhaps six streams at once. I'm not really sure what to look for. I assume I want some kind of NAS and then perhaps something like Plex? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 May 2020 07:50 AM PDT I currently have a light with a lutron diva dimmer. Can I connect a shelly 1 behind it? I just want on/off functionality with the shelly and will still dim it via physical dimmer. I also have a ceiling fan controlled by a dimmer switch for the light and a fan speed control switch, can I use a shelly 1 behind the light dimmer? What about behind the fan control? Again just concerned about on/off. Lastly, I have a ceiling fan without a light, can I use a shelly 1 to turn that on/off? What about receptacles with 12 gauge wire? What do you use for that because shelly terminals aren't big enough for 12 gauge. [link] [comments]
In need of a proper remote switch to cut the power (not a “okay-ish” working app). Any idea? Posted: 23 May 2020 02:30 AM PDT Hi Reddit, I am looking for a power outlet that can be controlled by remote switch and/or phone. I've seen the app based power outlets but they seem to be not really reliable? So ideally a: - remote controlled power cut off, controlled by the press of a button on a small remote (keychain-ish size) - needs to have an acceptable range. 15 meters within a home, for example. - does not need to rely on WiFi to work - is reliable To add I'm also interested in one that has the above functions + (some of) the functions below: - remote control option by phone, through WiFi - IFTT (eg: if phone is away from X gps location then cut power or if phone is offline for X time then cut power). Does anyone have any idea if something like this is available? Or something similar? Thank you for giving this is a shot 🙌 [link] [comments]
